4th LYPG ‘10 update – Coincidence, Unlike Any Other

Time: 2.30-4.00pm
Date: 03.04.10
Lead by: James
Number of people: 8
What did we do: worship, opening words and thoughts, prayer, sharing
Rating: Heart-breaking and awesome~!

This LYPG was unlike any other this year, it wasn’t a coincidence that who showed up and who didn’t show up. James shared at the opening about what God revealed to him today before he came. He was asking God to reveal who will be next in line to lead the LYPG, but he saw a group of people instead. Asking God why, God just smiled, and revealed to him that it won’t be a leader, but a group/committee that will be His people after His heart. This group of people would come for today’s LYPG. Surprised as everyone was, those who usually show up for LYPG did not show up today, but for the first time in year 2010, the MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) youths attended LYPG. Besides that, God also instilled in each of our hearts many different things but they’re in hand with one another.

Here are some points:
* We can’t force anyone against their will, but we can pray (I couldn’t force Jed to come along for LYPG today though he usually attends it)
* Starting- God reveals Himself as the loving, sacrificial Lamb; Growing- He reveals Himself as the Judge, righteous Lion; In fullness- He reveals Himself as both Lamb and the Lion.
* We are blessed with unity even though we are few (ImPACToRS and MYFers worked very successfully together for our 1st combined-effort Easter Celebration like we’re just 1 group, 1 body of Christ)
* Our generation is when God will accelerate, but it’s up to us to walk on His path and pick up the Cross daily.
* Joshua split the tribes, and each tribe chose the land of their preference (what you prefer); so choose your preference, what God puts in your heart.
* There’s no superior (no “Holier than you”); not everyone who calls Jesus “Lord” will enter heaven
* Run the race to the end, stand firm and don’t give up though others around you drop out from the race
* Be a witness in our own family.
* God closes doors, God leads.
* It begins with little things, our attitude and behavior towards small things; watch out for little foxes, for if the little errors are not dealt with big trouble will occur when we are involved in big things

Besides that, God has been revealing things to the 2 MYFers who came to LYPG:
Timmy- Not a coincidence that many are staying back for form6, felt that 6th formers could meet up after LYPG for bible study (as like how we studied Bible Knowledge before SPM)
Missy- Felt early in the back of her head God leading her to come back and stay home after pre-u, her application for pharmacist course was rejected recently, and she also confessed that she had back-slid in her pre-u year, so staying back for another good 4 months confirmed that she will do something for God here

What they both shared was later confirmed today at LYPG through what James said in the opening.

Why start half an hour late today? Partly because the person holding the church keys had to fetch one of the youth that usually comes (well you guessed right, the person didn’t come)

Me? Everything worked out too perfect for words. For one, Jed didn’t come along for LYPG, and I drove alone for the 1st time! No big deal? Big!!! Because LYPG started and ended late today because God was working, so driving alone means I won’t worry about my parents coming ON TIME to fetch me home.

To make it the more amazing was Timmy rode his bicycle to church. But while LYPG was going on it rained. If it ended any earlier Tim would have to go home wet.

Hazel emphasized unity between the races; she cried and confessed that she hadn’t see why should she love our M brothers and sisters, we’re sometimes just too proud of who we are and missed the bigger picture of love towards others. May God forgive us.

We cried a whole lot, praying and interceding. What tugged our hearts was about split churches; Sis. Catherine Fletcher (for those who know her, she’s one of our BK teacher) had by the will of God went back to her hometown in Ipoh, Perak. She had to go back to her home church which had split not only into 2, but into 3!!! Furthermore this also means trouble for the youths there. Then only did we realize how much we’re blessed with UNITY! Fellow comrades of the King, please don’t take unity lightly, and please pray for disunited churches and against the forces of the enemy.

Thank God for this historical day, between Good Friday and Easter! Be encouraged, and continue to encourage one another through what the King had revealed so that the whole Body of Christ may benefit and grow from it.

God’s will be done!
